The Cosmetic Department understands that privacy is important to you.  The Cosmetic Department is also required to comply with the requirements of the Privacy Amendment (Private Sector) Act 2000.

The Cosmetic Department automatically records information from your browser when you log on to our website www.thecosmeticdepartment.com.au, via session cookies including your IP address, Browser version and operating system version (used for site compatibility) and the page or pages you have visited.  This information allows us to identify how our customers use our website and allows us to futher develop the website and provide better service.  The cookie information is not used for any other purpose and is not linked by us with any other information that may identify the website user.  Our contract website provider does not have access to any personal information that would permit such linking of information. 

The personal information you have provided to us will be kept confidential and secure and not accessible for unauthorised use, amendment or disclosure.  Only The Cosmetic Department employees have been trained on our privacy policy and will have access to such information.  You are able to access the personal information we hold about you at any time by contacting our Privacy Officer by phone, fax or email.

The Cosmetic Department will only use personal information you have chosen to provide us for the purpose for which you provided it.  We will store your email address and mobile phone number if you have subscribed to emails and text alerts to be notified of new products and specials.  You can unsubscribe to either of these services at any time.

No sale of Personal Information

Under no circumstances will The Cosmetic Department sell or receive payment for licensing or disclosing your personal information.

The Cosmetic Department is concerned about the safety and security of our customers.  We have put a number of protections in place to ensure that your transactions are extremely safe and that your information is secure.

When transacting via our secure server, your credit card and personal details are encrypted using the latest military standard SSL (Secure Socket Layer) 128 Bit encryption technology before being sent over the Internet.  It encrypts all of your personal information, including credit card number, name, and address, so that it cannot be read as the information travels over the Internet.  You can tell you are in secure (SSL) mode when a little padlock appears on the bottom of the screen.

Personal information like address and phone is only accessible after supplying a username and password.  You must login before you can check your Order Status, View/Edit your personal information and order online.
