How can you sell these brands so cheap? Are they genuine products?

We often hear that the prices are too good to be true. 

Rest assured, ALL products are 100% genuine and authentic brands.

There are no imitations or non genuine goods sold on this website.  It is illegal in Australia to sell non genuine goods as this infringes on the Trade Mark owners rights.

We can offer you wholesale brand name cosmetics at such heavily discounted prices because we buy in bulk from overseas and pass the saving on to you.  You benefit from the 14 years we have spent developing relationships, dealing and negotiating with our suppliers in the United States and United Kingdom.

We also don’t have retails outlets that we need to pay huge leasing fees and we have a selected few sales representatives who conduct sales over the phone and internet, removing most of the large costs associated with a retail operational business.

Why do I need sale stock in my Pharmacy?

In Australian retail, the time has come to be highly competitive.  Competition is good for all businesses and customers.  While we don’t recommend a quick race to the bottom, if you are not offering discount cosmetics in your pharmacies, it is most likely, that your competitors are.

How to I place an order?

In two quick, easy steps you will be able to order and sell wholesale brand name cosmetics to your customers.  You don’t need to be pre-approved to sell these brands and products. 

1.  Browse and shop from our easy to use, secure online store, adding wholesale packs to the shopping cart.  (There is no minimum order)

2.  Proceed to the checkout and complete the delivery and payment details.  

It is that simple.  However, if you need any help along the way, we are here to assist you and guide you through the process.

Do you have a minimum order?

There is no minimum order to be able to purchase our wholesale clearance sale stock.   Prices are as low as 15% of retail prices, with products starting at $1 per unit.

All weekly clearance sale stock is sold in a (24) pack or as stated in the product listing.


Do I need to apply for an Account to place an order?

We like to make things as easy as possible for you to be able to sell brand name cosmetics.  You do not need to apply for an account to order with The Cosmetic Department. You can place an order directly online using our secure checkout.

How do your Weekly Specials work?

Every Tuesday morning on a weekly basis, we release clearance sale stock to our email subscribers database.  This stock is deeply discounted and the sale lasts for 4 days only.   You need to get in quickly at these prices as product lines can sell out fast. 

This stock gives you the chance to beat the competition on both pricing and product assortment and allows smaller pharmacies to compete with some of the larger pharmacies that may have better buying power.

What if I am a small Pharmacy or retailer?

We wholesale to a range of customers, including independent pharmacies, large pharmacy groups, grocery and other resellers throughout Australia.  The Cosmetic Department provides order solutions for all types of business requirements. 

Can I get further discounts?

For standard orders via this website, we can not offer further discounts.  The reason for this is that our prices are already as low as we can go.  We also work on low margins and high volume to allow our retailers to obtain their highest possible selling price, while still allowing them to be a discount seller.

However, for orders over $5,000 we can extend an additional 2.5% discount.

For orders over $10,000 we can extend an additional 5% discount.

PAYMENT INFORMATION

What payment methods are accepted?

We accept Visa, Mastercard and Amex.  To help your profits, we don’t charge a surcharge on any of these cards.  We also accept payments via bank transfer and PayPal.

If you decide to pay with bank transfer, the bank details for payment will be emailed to you at the time of checkout.

If you require a tax invoice before making payment, or to send to your Head Office for payment, this can be requested during the checkout process and we can email you a copy.  The tax invoice will show all payment options, including a return credit card section if required.

Do you offer 30 day Accounts?

Unfortunately we don’t offer accounts.  The reason for this is that we focus on offering you heavily discounted prices and to be able to do this we do not offer accounts.  Running an Accounts Department would be an additional cost for us and therefore affect the wholesale prices we currently offer to you.  

We accept Visa, Mastercard and Amex with no surcharge.  We also accept payments via bank transfer.  If you require a tax invoice before making payment, this can be requested during checkout.

All orders must be fully paid for prior to being shipped from our NSW warehouse.

Is it safe to order online?

All payments made on this website are secure and encrypted with the latest security protection.  Look for the padlock icon or lock displayed in the web browser.  This indicates a secure (SSL) mode where communications between browser and web server are encrypted. This type of connection is designed to prevent anyone from reading or modifying the data you exchange with the website.

This website is also PCI compliant.

Do you have Afterpay or zipPay?

Both Afterpay and zipPay are features that are coming soon to this website.  We will update this in the payment section and in the checkout as soon as this is available to our customers.

What shipping methods are available?

We use various professional domestic and international carriers such as StarTrack, DHL, TNT and Fedex which offer the most cost effective shipping solution for each and every customer to save time, money and hassles. 

These are carriers that we know and trust to help save costs and get you up and selling as soon as possible.

How do I track my order?

Once your order has been shipped, you will receive a tracking number via email.  This will contain your shipping carrier details and trackable shipping number.

How long will it take to receive my order?

We have a 1 week turn around on orders. Any order placed and paid for this Monday - Friday will be packed and shipped the following Monday – Wednesday.

All deliveries are fully insured and traceable with tracking details.

However, you can reorder with us at any time and receive the same great service and turnaround.

AUSTRALIAN CUSTOMERS

Depending on where your pharmacy or retail store is located, you will receive your stock mid-week of the following week.

INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMERS

Delivery times will vary from country to country.  You will receive the tracking details and the courier service details once your order is shipped.

What if my order gets damaged in transit?

We do make every effort to ensure all shipments are securely and professionally packaged to ensure they arrive at their destination safely and intact, however, regrettably it is not always possible to predict the duress to which products will be subject on any given journey.

If any goods were found to be faulty or damaged upon arrival, please be assured a full refund, credit or replacement would be provided and dispatched to your recorded address. 

We must be advised in writing within 7 days of receiving the goods so that these terms can be honoured.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes we ship Worldwide.

How are you able to sell this stock?

The Cosmetic Department is an importing and wholesaling company. 

You benefit from the many years we have spent developing relationships, dealing and negotiating with our suppliers in the United States and United Kingdom.  Our buyer travels to the United States and United Kingdom regularly sourcing the latest stock at the very best prices.  We then pass these savings on to you for your customers.

We also look after all of the importing and Australian Customs regulations and procedures.  We have spent several years conducting research and legal work to ensure we comply with Australian Law, Australian Customs and ACCC requirements.

How are you different to Revlon, Maybelline and other big brands? Why wouldn’t I just buy from them?

It is really the difference of financial outlay and space requirements. 

You no longer need to outlay a large amount of money to sell brand name cosmetics.  We find that some pharmacies and retail stores don’t want or need to outlay the large initial cost, anywhere from $10,000 and upwards to sell high profile brands in their store.  In other cases, some stores don’t have the available space for large wall units.

We are increasingly hearing from pharmacy owners that they are much more comfortable knowing they can select which product lines they want to stock in each of the brands.  Owners are telling us that they don’t want to worry when a new product line is released by a brand, with pressure to stock every new product.  Not all product lines are good sellers, so store owners would rather the flexibility and control over their buying decisions. 

Owners have concerns that they are only moving particular stock from their existing range on their wall units.

These reasons are why The Cosmetic Department offers an easy ordering system, which enables pharmacies to order as they go.  This gives them the flexibility to feel at ease with the financial side of their business and stock levels.  No pressure.  No commitment.

Do you have sales rep that can visit my Pharmacy?

One of the reasons we are able to wholesale brand name cosmetics at such discounted prices is that we do everything we can to keep our overheads as low as possible.  This includes the expense of running sales reps that visit stores and the associated costs of having such staff on the road.  

Instead, we have a selected few sales representatives who conduct sales over the phone and internet, who can help you with any information and questions that you would have in an in-store visit.  This allows your business and customers to save.

TERMS OF SALE AND RETURNS

What are your Terms of Sale?

Due to the nature of clearance stock and our extremely low wholesale costs to you, all sales are final.  In the lead up to your purchase we are here to assist you should you need any further information or need to ask any questions before making your purchase.

We do not sell faulty or damaged goods, however if any goods were found to be faulty or damaged, a full refund or credit would be awarded.

We must be advised in writing within 7 days of receiving the goods.

Under the Competition and Consumer Act 2010, governed by the ACCC, there are certain requirements for when a retailer does and does not need to offer a refund.

We do not issue a refund, credit or exchange on any of the goods sold on our website if you simply change your mind or decide that you want to purchase goods elsewhere.

When shopping on this website you are agreeing to these Terms of Sale.

Do you refund or exchange?

There are no refunds or exchanges unless the goods were found to be faulty.  We follow the ACCC law on this policy.

How can I change or cancel my order?

Once you have placed and paid for your order, the order can not be cancelled.  The reason for this is that after payment, the order is processed and sent to the warehouse for packing and shipment.  The order has also been allocated to a shipper and unfortunately can not be changed.

Can I exchange or swap items after I receive my order?

Due to our low pricing model, we can not exchange or swap product lines.  We are here to assist in the lead up to your purchase to help with any questions you might have about the products prior to ordering.

How do I return an item?

If any part of your order was found to be faulty or damaged, we will accept returns and issue a refund if requested.  We will also work with you if you would like an exchange or credit issued.

You must notify us in writing within 7 days of receiving the goods so that we can arrange the return with you.  

Do I have to pay anything to return my items?

If any part of your order was found to be faulty or damaged, rest assured, you will not need to pay for shipping if we are correcting a faulty order.

If some products are not selling, can I swap or exchange them for other stock lines?

In order to keep our prices low, we can not swap product lines if they are not performing on your store.  Our low cost pricing enables you to sell the stock at discounted prices, however, if you do have any product lines not performing as well as other lines, what we suggest is creating some offers in store.  For example, buy any 2 items and get a free item or spend a certain amount for a free item.  This will help you move that stock.  Alternatively you can mark the slow stock down to make room and provide the budget for your stronger performing lines.  We are here to help with offers and ideas, so feel free to get in touch.

Do you offer exclusivity?

We are sometimes asked for exclusivity which is what some of the major brand names might offer.  As we are a completely different business and sell discounted stock, there is no need for exclusivity.  If your store purchased discount cosmetics from us, it would be very unlikely that your next closest competitor has purchased the exact same product lines from us.  We have new stock and discounts every week to help keep things exciting in store for your customers.

Where does the stock come from?

The Cosmetic Department is an importing and wholesaling company.  We buy all of our stock from the United States, United Kingdom and Australian suppliers.  As a customer of The Cosmetic Department, you benefit from 14 years buying power and relationships.

We don't currently sell these brands. Can I still buy from you?

Yes.  You don’t need to already be selling these brands to take advantage of the weekly specials or any other stock listed on our website.

What are the best brands to resell?

We deal with pharmacies all around Australia and find that Maybelline, LÓreal and Revlon are the best selling brands. 

All brands work well in different areas and demographics, especially when sold at discounted prices.

In these economic times, when your customers are being price savvy, it really comes down to being price competitive.  All of the brands we sell work well with the right price point.

What are the best products to resell?

Based on retailer feedback, L’Oreal and Maybelline lip products and foundations walk out the door at the right selling price.  It is no wonder when you can sell them at less than $9.95.  Coming in at under 50% of your competitors and still doubling your money!  So make sure you add some of these to your shopping cart. 

Due to the extremely low wholesale cost price of the products, there is a good mix of products that do well in stores.  This is mainly due to what your pharmacy can retail the products for. 

A good idea is to start with an assortment of products.  This starts you off with a good selection and lets you see what products and brands are going to work best in your area and suit your customers.    

Once you see a demand for a particular brand or product you can easily manage your stock levels with our easy to use, online reorder system.  You just log into your account and reorder what you need.  This gives you the flexibility to feel at ease with the financial side of your business and stock levels.

What is clearance sale stock? Does this mean that it is old or discontinued?

No.  More than 70% of the sale stock offered is currently for sale on the typical big branded makeup stands in exactly the same shades and colours that you would see in any pharmacy or retail store.

None of the stock is at all old or expired stock.  These products are sourced from overseas suppliers and in some cases a particular product may stop being sold overseas, but is still offered for sale in Australia.

Occasionally some stock we sell, may be discontinued in Australia.  This means it is well suited for your clearance and sale bins in your store.  When you look at your per unit cost price of around $3 and $4, your customers are happy to pick up bargain products like this.  It just means that your customers may not be able to purchase this exact product from your store next visit.  By this time, you will have seen the benefits of your clearance sales and profits and replenished your sale bins.  Your customers will be more than happy to buy another well priced product from you. 

All stock is new and has never been used or tested. 

On a very small percent of products (only a couple of sale packs that we offer from time to time on this webiste) may have some sale stickers on them from clearance outlets.  If at any time we are offering this type of stock, this will always be in the product listing.  This by no way means that they are unsuitable for sale in your pharmacy.  All of these products are heavily discounted for quick clearance and in turn quick resale in your store.

There are never any price stickers on the stock.   

With our wholesale cost prices, these products are an absolute bargain and you will find it hard to find better prices anywhere on the internet.  If you do, we would like to know.  We are highly competitive on pricing and always like to ensure that we are offering the most competitive prices to our customers.

Are the products the same as products for sale in Australia?

We often hear that the prices are too good to be true. 

In fact, all products are exactly the same as the same products for sale here on the Australian marketplace. 

Under no circumstances do the products have any foreign language written anywhere on the product.  

All products are 100% genuine and authentic brands.

PROFIT INFORMATION

What price do I need to sell the products at?

It is completely up to you what you want to resell the product lines at.   The manufacturer Recommended Retail Price (RRP) is their recommendation, but we encourage you to take advantage of our low prices, double your money and still come in well under any RRP.  In turn, wowing your customers and having them return to your business more often.

How much profit can I make?

We encourage you to put 100% mark up or a 50% margin on all clearance stock.  As you are probably aware, this is a very good margin on cosmetics and a much higher margin that a lot of other floor stock.

So double your money!  Doing this ensures you are making great profits as well as offering your customers stock at prices of at least half of the normal retail prices.

Can I get into trouble with Revlon, LÓreal and other big brands for buying from you and reselling?

Fortunately, we are very lucky as Australian business owners, and as an Australian business owner, you are free to purchase stock from whoever you choose to do business with.  The Competition and Consumer Act 2010, ensures that as an Australian business this freedom is possible. 

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) promotes competition and fair trade in the market place to benefit consumers, businesses and the community.  Its primary responsibility is to ensure that individuals and businesses comply with the Commonwealth competition, fair trading and consumer protection laws.

How much do I pay per unit for the stock?

We have a very low cost per stock unit.  You get 1104 units, so the individual unit price comes down to $2.88 ex GST.

What size is the Cosmetics Stand?

The stand has been custom built to suit all Pharmacy, grocery and retail stores.  It has a compact design, yet allows a large display of units.  


The dimensions are 60cm x 60cm wide.


The height is 105cm for the white display and Acrylic grid display which sits on top of the white base.


There is additional height for the $5 sale sign (30cm) to further attract attention and shoppers.

How much do I pay for the Cosmetics Stand?

The total price is $3500 Delivered, which includes GST.  We are currently offering FREE DELIVERY Australia Wide.

How do I restock?

Once you are a customer, you can easily restock in 2 different ways.
